The more research I read, the more I learn about alcohol and drug dependency and co-dependency, the more obvious it becomes that recovery is about creating a new world for ourselves. We learn to avoid triggers, those things that take us to a negative state. We learn to engage in those activities that build a more positive frame of mind. We change by building those activities, relationships and practices that support us becoming the kind of person we’ve always wanted to be.
So my question is: What spaces have you built in your life that help you relax? That help turn off the troubles of the day? That focus your mind on the meditation of a song that touches your heart?
