The issues vary. One person eats too much and another too little. There are those who react angrily to the slightest provocation and others who spend their time alone in self-pity. We could fill pages of the different ways people have found to avoid themselves but there are a few things they all have in common. These issues consume our emotional energy, tie up our creative abilities and leave us preoccupied. And we keep them hidden because we’re afraid to let someone see that part of ourselves. Sometimes we’re so good at keeping them hidden we don’t even realize they’re there.
So … and the solution is? The solutions vary. For some it’s as simple as identifying the behavior and then choosing to change. For others, a 10th step and visit with one’s sponsor will make a world of difference. Then there are those who struggle with defining what the problem is or exactly how it works in their lives. Those need to seek some assistance.
Recently I started providing half hour consulting sessions for the purpose of helping people with this type problem. There are those who need counseling but there are also many others who only need a little feedback on how to get started. If you’re facing an issue that just doesn’t seem to get resolve then please set up a session. You may find that change can happen easier than you think.
